I have officially chosen my favorite author of the Romantics.
After a 12 page paper discussing the artistic interpretations of Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, I just can't help but be fascinated by epic adventure.
The verse, rhyme, imagery and symbolism are great on their own. However, if you pair them with the diverse body of illustrations created over the years, the piece transitions from an unsettling yet rhythmical episode to a chilling and haunting adventure.
Don't believe me? Take a look.
